Director K.S. Ravi Kumar in his petition had stated that the story is based on the books published by the Tamil Nadu Government; therefore, it has to be historically correct. The allegations that Kamal Haasan sets his foot on the "Om" mantra and the holy book Bagavadh Geetha is also incorrect. Moreover, the film is not based on Sri Rangam Temple or the God abode there. After hearing the pleadings, Justices Rajasurya and Sathyanarayan enquired the advocate present on behalf of the producer whether the release date has been finalized. On receiving a negative response, they adjourned case to May 20th.
